Big Blue 04:18
Today I’ll clean and flip through some magazines I used to dream, giving up on everything And skin that rots right through I feel so old I feel unused In a field somewhere I lay and stare At the big blue sky a big blue bruise I used to sing, riding on a tire swing The stars make rings, hanging over everything And skin that rots right through I feel so old I feel unused In a field somewhere I lay and stare At the big blue sky a big blue bruise I don’t want to play the game Release me I don’t want to play the game Release me

Head on Fire 03:04
Burning up, burn it down Racing toward the sound but I don’t know Sunken eyes, tired soul Knees that start to give but I still go No, no, no fear I am not here Screaming out, keep it in Someone start a fire beneath my skin One that won’t flicker out When I lose my head you watch me spin No, no, no fear I am not here
3.
Golden Hills 03:29
Drinking lemonade, hanging from the balustrade All comes crashing down I guess I’m unprepared Hit my head real bad, twisted ankle twice as sad Thought I knew you but you’re broken at the seams It seems you can’t trust anything Back when we were kids we raced over golden hills We bruised our knees, got bloody from the kills Late in the night I saw you twitching there I closed my eyes Eating coffee beans, walking on a balance beam Close your eyes and make pretend they’re all your friends Everyone is weird, in the forest crying deer Beckon closer now I think I hear my name It seems you can’t trust anything Back when we were kids we raced over golden hills We bruised our knees, got bloody from the kills Late in the night I saw you twitching there I closed my eyes

Rain Song 03:03
I’ve seen you Deeper than the crying ocean You’re standing Distant from the coastal motion Want to take a plane to Alameda Mirrors every way but you can’t see you Gotta get away, you’re almost ready Shower in the rain You’ve seen me Standing at the attic window The eyes that Peer out from the slanted shadows Want to take a plane to Alameda Mirrors every way but you can’t see you Gotta get away, you’re almost ready Shower in the rain
5.
Animation 03:29
They took the flower right out of my brain When I walk to class I go insane The crows that fly around the bell They caught the scent, I fell You think I’m real, I’m an animation Drawn with a smile but I’m dumb Behind the scenes an amalgamation Of cheap cigars They took the silver waves out of my heart Filled my mouth up with line graphs and charts The gnarly tree in the courtyard That reaches toward the stars You think I’m real, I’m an animation Drawn with a smile but I’m dumb Behind the scenes an amalgamation Of cheap cigars I dropped out for a minute, I ran out of gas Could you and me run away out to the valley? We could start a band And you could sing cause I’m not a natural singer But I can shout out loud Could you hold my hand? Cause I'm not sure where I’m headed I don’t have a plan So I’ll go back to school and try to keep my cool

Your son is running on a hillside He wears a paper crown Your branches carry him without eyes Leaves falling on the ground Give a little less now He climbs into your greener places You laugh but something’s wrong He’s up there eating all your apples Barren, where has he gone Your son is running on a hillside Your son is running on a hillside Give a little less now

Sawdust 02:43
Grind yourself at work all day Muscles swell and start to fray Fat man wrote a script of things for me to say You’re just in it for the money Hair gets whiter, ain’t it funny Swollen head might burst instead Swelling from the lines I read Sanding through my skull, the hands that want me dead You’re just in it for the money Hair gets whiter ain’t it funny The sawdust that falls from us Choking up it’s not enough

Carousel 04:04
Chains on the swings leave rusty circles Back to the start, we just get older High school never ends, take it for a spin Hold our drinks up higher as the wind whips us from behind Twisting around, knots in the forest Dogs sniff us out and leave us tangled High school never ends, take it for a spin Hold our drinks up higher as the wind whips us from behind The really get me The really get me high
9.
Truth is I don’t like the wrinkles on my face But they lie when they say there’s nothing left to chase Body grey from wear I find a cliff to stare At wild horses free, just running away from me Pretty horses running courses Truth is I got sad but you helped me find my way Saddled up these bones and lined them for the race I couldn’t feel at all but now I feel the rays Of the setting sun just dancing against the grain Pretty Horses running courses Pretty Horses running courses
10.
Albatross 02:47
You want to sit beside me But I’ve been in the breeze Calling your name in silence As waves come down in threes You want to breathe me in when I’m always drifting out and I'll give my sweet devotion I got lost in the ocean I shot an albatross down It hangs around my neck now A love once soaring free Died somewhere deep within me
